How to manage your profile on JobzMall

Welcome to JobzMall! If there is one thing that makes our community great, it is the individuals who make up that community. Your profile is where you get to show everything you bring to potential employers and the world.

To get started, let's go over some of the information you can manage on your profile.

How to Access Your Profile


Quick Steps:

  1. Click on your profile image in the header.

  2. Click on View Your Profile in the side drawer.


Detailed Steps:

There are a few ways to access your profile, but the easiest way is to start from your homepage, and click on either your profile image or name on the Overview Card:

How to Change General Profile Information


Quick Steps:

  1. Click Edit Profile on your profile underneath your profile image

  2. Fill or edit information in the fields

  3. Click Save Profile


Detailed Steps:

Now that you are on your profile, we can go over the type of information you are able to control to represent yourself the best!

First, let's go over your general profile information. This includes things like your professional title, personal introduction, location, and social links. You can even change your profile image from here as well!

Go ahead and enter some information! Just click the Edit Profile button:

You should see the fields for Professional Title, Location, and About You.

If you notice, underneath the About You field, there was a small link called + Manage Social Links. This will show more fields for each social link that you can enter.

You can easily fill up any of these fields to your desire, and click Save Profile, and the new information will be updated! If you decided you don't want to change anything, simply click Cancel.

How to change your Profile Image


Quick Steps:

  1. Hover over your profile photo on your profile, and click Upload

  2. Select a file to upload on the first step of the Upload Photo Dialog

  3. Crop your photo to your liking on the second step of the Update Photo Dialog

  4. Click Upload Photo


Detailed Steps:

Changing your profile image is very simple! Simply hover over your large profile image, and click Upload:

This will bring up the Upload Profile Photo dialog. This dialog will have two simple steps. The first is to select an image by clicking Select File:

Once you find a good picture of yourself, you will then present with a Crop Window:

This Crop Window allows you to move around your photo to find just the right spot you want to show on your Profile Image. The area inside the circle will show on your profile image. In the Crop Window, You can drag the image with your mouse. You can also use your scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom in and out. Alternatively, you can use the Zoom Slider underneath the Crop Window to zoom in and out:

Once you adjusted to your liking, simply click Upload Photo.

You should now see your new profile image! Looking sharp!


Managing Experience On Your Profile

Your work experience is one of many important things that helps tell your potential employers and peers your story. Let's get into how to start adding and editing your experience.

On your profile, let's scroll down and find your Experience Card:

This is where your experience is shown and managed. If you are new to JobzMall, yours may be empty! That is okay! We are going to add some experience right now.


Adding Experience to Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Experience Card on your profile

  2. Click the + (add) icon on the top right of the card

  3. Fill in required fields

  4. Click Add Experience


Adding Experience to Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To add experience to your profile, click on the + (Add) icon on the top right of the Experience Card on your profile:

This will bring up the Experience Dialog:

Here you can see some fields to fill out. Let's take a look at the each field:

  1. Where did you work? This one is a little self explanatory, simply enter the organization you worked for. There will be an autocomplete dropdown as you type to help you out as well. If your organization was not in the autocomplete, no worries! You don't need to use the autocomplete to finish this field.

  2. Title - What was your title at this organization? (e.g. Network Engineer, Marketing Analyst)

  3. Location - What was the location that you worked at? This can be an address or a city. You must choose from the location from the autocomplete dropdown for it to be a valid location.

  4. Description - Tell us everything you did at this position! You can go into as much detail as you would like.

  5. From - This is month and year in which you started this position

  6. To - This is the month and year in which you stopped working in this position. If you still work in this position, mark the checkbox I current work here instead of entering this date.

So once you are done filling out each field, simply click Add Experience:


Editing Experience on Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Experience Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and experience you want to edit, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and click Edit.

  3. Edit the information

  4. Click Save


Editing Experience on Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To edit experience on your profile, hover over one of your experience records on your Experience Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Edit:

This will bring up the Experience Dialog again, but will let you edit the fields you already filled out. Whenever you are done, just click Save!


Deleting Experience on Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Experience Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and experience you want to delete, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Experience.


Deleting Experience on Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To delete experience on your profile, hover over one of your experience records on your Experience Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Delete. It will confirm again if you want to delete this experience record, just click Delete Experience to confirm.


Managing Education On Your Profile

Before we begin - to make things easier, if you haven't read the section "Managing Experience On Your Profile", it is encouraged to do so, as the process is very similar! Let's get into how to start adding and editing your education.

On your profile, let's scroll down and find your Education Card:

This is where your education is shown and managed. If you are new to JobzMall, yours may be empty! That is okay! We are going to add some education right now.


Adding Education to Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Education Card on your profile

  2. Click the + (add) icon on the top right of the card

  3. Fill in required fields

  4. Click Add Education


Adding Education to Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To add education to your profile, click on the + (Add) icon on the top right of the Education Card on your profile:

This will bring up the Education Dialog:

Here you can see some fields to fill out. Let's take a look at the each field:

  1. School - This one is a little self explanatory, simply enter the school you attended. There will be an autocomplete dropdown as you type to help you out as well. If your organization was not in the autocomplete, no worries! You don't need to use the autocomplete to finish this field.

  2. Degree - What degree program did attend this school for? We have everything from High School to Graduate Degrees! Go ahead and pick one.

  3. Field - What was your field of study? There will be an autocomplete dropdown as you type to help you out as well. If your field was not in the autocomplete, no worries! You don't need to use the autocomplete to finish this field.

  4. Description - Tell us everything you did during your studies. Highlight the things you learned, your extracurricular activities, or anything you feel helped you grow during your education.

  5. From - This is month and year in which you started attending

  6. To - This is the month and year in which you stopped attending. If you still attend this education institution, mark the checkbox I currently attend here instead of entering this date. If you do, you will need to put an expected graduation date instead.

So once you are done filling out each field, simply click Add Education:


Editing Education on Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Education Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and education you want to edit, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and click Edit.

  3. Edit the information

  4. Click Save

To edit education on your profile, hover over one of your education records on your Education Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Edit:

This will bring up the Education Dialog again, but will let you edit the fields you already filled out. Whenever you are done, just click Save!


Deleting Education on Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Education Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and education you want to delete, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Education.

To delete education on your profile, hover over one of your education records on your Education Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Delete. It will confirm again if you want to delete this education record, just click Delete Education to confirm.


Managing Skills On Your Profile

Your skills are more than just employers want, they are what define you. Let's get into how to start adding and editing your skills on JobzMall!

On your profile, scroll down and find your Skills Card:

This is where your skills and their ratings are shown and managed. If you are new to JobzMall, yours may be empty! That is okay! We are going to add some skills right now.


Adding Skills to Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Skills Card on your profile

  2. Click the + (add) icon on the top right of the card

  3. Type in a skill you want to add into the search box.

  4. Either select a suggestion from the autocomplete dropdown, or click Enter on your keyboard if there isn't a suggestion for your skill.

  5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 as many times you want.

  6. Click Add Skills


Adding Skills to Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To add skills to your profile, click on the + (Add) icon on the top right of the Skills Card on your profile:

This will bring up the Skills Dialog:

Here you can a search box that allows you to search our system for existing skills, or put in your own. Let's search for an existing one, Graphic Design:

As you can see, as you type, it comes up with suggestions for existing skills within our system. We can see graphic design as the third option here, so let's see what happens when we select it:

Cool! The skill we selected is there! Now here comes the fun part. You get to rate (highlighted in green in the above screenshot) yourself in this skill from 1 (not very efficient) to 5 (expert). Go ahead and do that now.

Now, before we save these skills, let's go ahead and enter a skill that doesn't exist in JobzMall's system! It is simple! Just type in a skill, and click Enter on your keyboard.

You can see by my new skill (that was not in JobzMall's system) - I may be open to being a trapeze artist 🙃 .

Anyway! Now that you can add as many skills to this dialog (don't forget to rate each one) and then click Add Skills. You should now see your new skills in your Skills Card.


Editing Your Skill Ratings (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Skills Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and skill you want to edit the rating of, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Edit.

  3. Pick the proficiency level (indicated by dots under the skill name) you want. It will automatically save your skill


Editing Your Skill Ratings (Detailed Steps):

So, you spent some time honing your skills over the past months, and believe you have went from a 2 to a 5 on one of your skills? No problem. Simply hover over one of your skills and click the More (three dots) button on right hand side of it and then click Edit. It will then allow you click one of the dots underneath the skill to rate it again!


Deleting a Skill (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Skills Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and skill you want to delete, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Skill.


Deleting a Skill (Detail Steps):

Made a mistake? No longer want to show employers a certain skill? Simply hover over one of your skills, and click the More (three dots) button on right hand side of it and then click Delete.


Managing Soft Skills On Your Profile

What is the difference between skills and soft skills?

Your normal (or functional) skills show employers and peers what proficiencies you have in hard subjects. Soft skills on the other hand are things about your personality and work ethic that make you stand out.

How to manage soft skills

Adding, editing, and deleting soft skills follows the exact same process as regular skills, except you don't rate your proficiency in them! Read the above section "Managing Skills On Your Profile" to get a detailed look at managing skills.


Managing Certifications On Your Profile

Do you happen to have any special certifications you want to showcase on your JobzMall profile? We have a spot for that too! Let's dive in.

On your profile, let's scroll down and find your Certifications Card:

This is where your certifications are shown and managed. If you are new to JobzMall, yours may be empty! That is okay! We are going to add some certifications right now.


Adding Certifications to Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Certifications Card on your profile

  2. Click the + (add) icon on the top right of the card

  3. Fill in required fields

  4. Click Add Certification


Adding Certifications to Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To add a certification to your profile, click on the + (Add) icon on the top right of the Certifications Card on your profile:

This will bring up the Certifications Dialog:

Here you can see some fields to fill out. Let's take a look at the each field:

  1. Certification Name - This one is a little self explanatory, simply enter the the name of your certification.

  2. Issuing Organization - What was your title of the organization who awarded you this certificate? There will be an autocomplete dropdown as you type to help you out as well. If your organization was not in the autocomplete, no worries! You don't need to use the autocomplete to finish this field.

  3. From - This is month and year in which you were awarded this certification.

  4. To - This is the month and year in which the certification expires. If the certification never expires, checkmark the box entitled This certification does not expire.

Once you are done filling out each field, simply click Add Certification:


Editing Your Certifications (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Certifications Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and certification you want to edit, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Edit.

  3. Edit the information you want to

  4. Click Save.

To edit certifications on your profile, hover over one of your certification records on your Certifications Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Edit:

This will bring up the Certification Dialog again, but will let you edit the fields you already filled out. Whenever you are done, just click Save!


Deleting Certifications (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Certifications Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and certification you want to delete, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Certification.

To delete a certification on your profile, hover over one of your certification records on your Certification Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Delete. It will confirm again if you want to delete this certification record, just click Delete Certification to confirm.


Managing Honors & Awards On Your Profile

Honors and Awards are great way to show how to excel in your craft! Let's jump in and start adding some of those amazing achievements.

On your profile, let's scroll down and find your Honors & Awards Card:

This is where your honors & awards are shown and managed. If you are new to JobzMall, yours may be empty! That is okay! We are going to add some honors & awards right now.


Adding an Honor or Award to Your Profile (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Honors & Awards Card on your profile

  2. Click the + (add) icon on the top right of the card

  3. Fill in required fields

  4. Click Add


Adding an Honor or Award to Your Profile (Detailed Steps):

To add Honor or Award to your profile, click on the + (Add) icon on the top right of the Honors & Awards Card on your profile:

This will bring up the Honors & Awards Dialog:

Here you can see some fields to fill out. Let's take a look at the each field:

  1. Title? This one is a little self explanatory, simply enter the name of Honor or Award.

So once you are done filling out each field, simply click Add:


Editing Your Honors & Awards (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Honors & Awards Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and Honor or Award you want to edit, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Edit.

  3. Edit the information you want to.

  4. Click Save.

To edit an Honor or Award on your profile, hover over one of the records on your Honors & Award Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Edit:

This will bring up the Honors & Awards Dialog again, but will let you edit the fields you already filled out. Whenever you are done, just click Save!


Deleting Honors & Awards (Quick Steps):

  1. Go to the Honors & Award Card on your profile

  2. Hover over and Honor or Award you want to delete, and click the More button (three dots) on the right hand side of the record, and then click Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Honor.


Deleting Honors & Awards (Detailed Steps):

To delete an Honor or Award on your profile, hover over one of the records on your Honors & Awards Card on your profile and then click on the More icon (three dots):

After you click that, it will show you actions for Edit and Delete, go ahead and click Delete. It will confirm again if you want to delete this Honor or Award record, just click Delete Honor to confirm.

Profile Privacy

We take your privacy extremely seriously here at JobzMall. At anytime you can set your profile to private.


Set Your Profile Privacy (Quick Steps):

  1. Open your side drawer by clicking on your profile image in the header.

  2. Click on Settings in the side drawer.

  3. Click on the Privacy & Security tab.

  4. In the Profile Privacy section, select the Private radio button and then click Save Privacy Settings
