JobzMall accepts the following file formats for resume uploads:
PDF (.pdf)
Microsoft Word (.docx)
Apple Pages (.pages)
Microsoft Word 97-2003 (.doc)
Important notes:
Avoid .doc format: While .doc files are accepted, this format is extremely old. Employer resume scoring tools may not parse these files correctly. We recommend using more modern formats for better compatibility.
PDF quality: If you're uploading a PDF, ensure it's not a flattened image. Flattened PDFs cannot be parsed effectively by employer resume scoring tools.
Checking PDF quality: To check if your PDF is a flattened image, try to select the text with your mouse cursor inside the PDF. If you can't select the text, it's likely a flattened image.
Fixing flattened PDFs: If your PDF is flattened, consider recreating it from the original document or using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to convert it to a text-based PDF.
Recommendations: For best results, we recommend using .pdf or .docx formats. These are widely compatible and generally parse well with most resume scoring tools.
By ensuring your resume is in the right format and quality, you increase your chances of it being correctly read and scored by potential employers' systems.
