Spotting job scams

Real employers do not charge you to be hired. A closed role and a fake role are different problems.

A job scam borrows the shape of a real hiring process and then asks for money, identity documents it does not need yet, or a move onto a channel JobzMall cannot see.

Stop if a posting or a message does any of this

  • Asks you to pay a fee, buy equipment, or cash a check in order to start.
  • Insists you continue only over text, a personal email, or a messaging app, and will not stay on the job.
  • Offers work you did not apply for, with vague duties and urgent pay.
  • Asks for a government ID, bank login, or a photo of a card before there is a real offer.

Three different problems

Fraud is someone trying to take money or identity. A ghost job is a real employer with no present vacancy. A stale job is a real opening that has already closed. A source label does not settle any of the three. Is this job legit? is how to read the label. Job Safety is the longer public note.
